Day 67
Today we had a farewell dinner for Yilin who has ended her 3 month secondment here and will be heading home on Sunday. The dinner was at Dainty Sichuan Restaurant, a place where Jasmine, Jiaqi and Allison, went to last weekend for dinner. Prior to the dinner, we were joking about bringing milk to dinner to ease the spiciness and how we will all end up with natural blush.

Sichuan food isn't really my cup of tea, too oily and spicy and you can't really taste the food except the spiciness. But it is a good place to go during cold winter as you get 'heated' up pretty fast! We ordered the Spicy Fried Crab and the crabs are supposed to be stacked on top of one another, like a tower. The waiter who was carrying it was walking so slowly and he had an "escort" to clear the path for him. But when he placed it on our table, the tower toppled and Mr Tan immediately used his hands to catch the falling crabs! The crabs were really hot and he burnt his fingers a little. My hero!
The only dish that I like was the Pork Ribs and Fish. The Pork Ribs was tasty and being non-spicy, it was something to calm the hot tongue. The fish was very tender! Although it was swimming in the chilli oil, it was so tender that I couldn't help but go for it even though the chilli and pepper was really hot. Other than these 2 dishes, the eggplant was a favourite among the girls.
At the end of the dinner, everyone was still coping fine because Janice, Diego, Allison (the Canadians) and Alex (the Australian with Italian roots) didn't really eat much of the dishes but they certainly polished up their rice. We did see 1 "Jolie" though. Haha.
