Met Jiaqi and Emily for dinner and we decided to use our voucher from the Entertainment Book. Shinissi Hwaro is tucked away in the quiet Healeys Lane and there are actually quite a few Korean restaurants here. I had searched previously for Shinssi and wanted to try their buffet but forgot all about it and ordered from its ala carte menu instead.
Jiaqi and Emily opted to sit outside as they didn't want to smell after the meal but it was futile. The grill's suction wasn't working at all and the smoke was everywhere.
Tonight's menu
Man Du - Korean dumpling
Dok Bo Ki - Stir-fried rice cake
Soon Dobu - Soft tofu and seafood soup
Tuna Kimchi Chigae - Kimchi stew with tuna and vegetable
Pork Neck
Pork Belly
Beef
Spicy Chicken
Food was average and portions were small. One major gripe was that the prawns in the Soon Dobu looked terrible, they didn't look fresh and none of us wanted to eat them. Yucks! The place wasn't crowded but the food sure took a long time to arrive. Because of the small portions, Emily was still feeling hungry after the BBQ. She ordered kimchi soup and rice and the soup took about 15 minutes to arrive. She lamented that she needs to order another course because all the food has already been diegsted. Jiaqi wasn't really full too and wanted to have desserts. Even after the discount, we paid about $25 per pax. For the amount of food, this is certainly pricey. If we were to go again, I would definitely go for the buffet. Can't wait to go back to SG and have my fave Korean BBQ!! Yummmmmm...
Time to hit the showers. My hair stinks.
