Day 487
It's the second day of summer but it certainly doesn't feel like it. It's so cold! Brrr....
Mr Tan's company held their annual Christmas Party at Port Melbourne and as usual, the 3 of them (Mr Tan, Jiaqi and Jasmine) skipped the after-party dinner and had dinner with Shenton and I instead. I searched the Entertainment Book and Urbanspoon before finally deciding on Omah's and it was a very disappointing dinner.
The Good :)
1. The oyster omelette was the highlight. It's the only dish that was good and satisfied everyone's cravings for Orh Lua.
2. Service was excellent. Water was constantly refilled.
The Bad :(
1. No crabs were available tonight. You need to call and book in advance.
2. Food was passable, not fantastic. I went with high expectations after reading all the glowing reviews on Urbanspoon.
3. Dishes were all lukewarm. I prefer to have my food hot.
4. Portions were so small and it was barely enough to fill the guys up. They ended up having more rice.
5. The guys were still hungry after our first round of food so we ordered a second round and that took almost 30 minutes to arrive and again, they were lukewarm. I didn't bother to take any more pics as everyone was so tired of waiting.
6. We didn't get any discount because I didn't check that we need to present the voucher from the Entertainment Book and I didn't bring it along. My bad.
Since no one was really full, we headed to Max Brenner for dessert and that was the saving grace of the night! Yummy Yummy Yummy YUM! Well, we might go Omah's again with the Entertainment Book discount voucher to try its crabs and give it a second chance. Hopefully it'll be a better experience.
Gin, appreciating your effort for letting us know the situation in our Port Melbourne branch. We will discuss and continue to improve.
ReplyDeleteAnd Thank You for giving us 2nd chance at Hawthorn branch.
