Day 405
11 Sept 2011
Was watching the live telecast of the 9/11 remembrance on ABC News. It's tragic and sad that so many perished and their families have nothing to bury or cremate. It's difficult to accept that your loved one has passed away and it's even more difficult when you don't get to see their bodies. Listening to the families read their messages to the dead brought tears to my eyes. Finally, after 10 long years, they will have a place to grieve for their loved ones. Where the twin towers once stood now lies 2 granite pools bordered by bronze panels where the names of all those who perished on that day are inscribed. Many cried as they touched the names of their loved ones, many planted American flags on the names of their loved ones, many stencilled the names of their loved ones. I hope this brings some form of closure for them.
Memorial services were also held at Pennsylvania and Pentagon to remember those who perished on that fateful day. It is a day that I wish will never ever come again. So many innocent lives were lost on that day and in the war that followed. May those who lost their lives rest in peace and may those who have lost their loved ones find some closure and live strong.
